Exhibiting
If you are interested in showing your artwork at the Progress Energy Art Gallery, please read the following guidelines carefully. We are well aware of how difficult it is for an artist to get shown in a gallery, and we want to make this experience as pleasant and professional as possible. Artists and galleries need each other. We respect that relationship.
Please review our posted themes (below) and specifically submit the theme of your choice. Keep in mind that you may only show once per calendar year. The reason for this is because, we would like to give as many artists as possible, the opportunity to exhibit with us.
Theme's for 2009/2010:
Aug/Sep - Florida History
Oct/Nov - Myth, Mystery and Religion
Dec/Jan - Modern Art
Feb/March - Tropical
April/May - Mediterranean
June/July - Members Show
There are three ways to send us images. They are listed below in order of preference:
2. Send an e-mail to peagnpr@gmail.com, with 5 .jpg attachments.
3. First Class or Priority mail.
We do not review artist portfolios or meet with artists in person until we have already reviewed samples and decided we want to see more. We do not pay to return unsolicited portfolios.
Please do not call to check on the status of your submission.
Response Time
Response time will vary, depending factors such as the number of submissions for a particular exhibit, lead time before the exhibit starts, etc.
What happens if we are interested.
If we are interested in your work, we will contact you by phone, email or mail (per your contact information). At this point we will contact you to arrange to see some of your work in person. We prefer not to show work in the gallery without first seeing at least one actual piece of your artwork. Be prepared to ship or bring something to the gallery for us to review before making a final decision.
